Codding Hollow Covered Bridge Damaged

On the evening of December 19th the Codding Hollow Covered Bridge was damaged by an unknown vehicle. The Vermont State Police have issued the following press release:

LOCATION: Covered Bridge, Codding Hollow Road, Waterville
VIOLATION: Leaving the Scene of an Accident

The Vermont State Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the operator of a vehicle that crashed into the covered bridge on Codding Hollow Rd. in Waterville. The vehicle's operator left the scene without notifying police and caused extensive damage. The Queenpost through truss bridge which crosses the Lamoille River was built in 1877 and rehabilitated 1976. The bridge was posted to the National Register of Historic Places on October 1, 1974.
