Travels with Nancy and Chuck Knapp (concluded)
April 13, 2006 - Here are three more Ashtabula County, Ohio bridges, all taken on October 8; the Caine Road Bridge, the Doyle Road Bridge, and the Mechanics Road Bridge.
The last three photos, taken on September 22, are of the Knapp Bridge in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Way back in history some of Chuck's relations had something to do with the building of this bridge.

Caine Road Bridge 35-04-61
Built in 1986 using the Pratt Truss, 96 feet in length, spans the Ashtabula River north of Pierpont, Ohio.

Doyle Road Bridge 35-04-16
The 84-foot Muller, or Doyle Road, Bridge was built in 1876 using a Town Truss to cross Mill Creek north of Jefferson, Ohio.

Mechanics Road Bridge 35-04-18
The 154-foot span was built in 1867 with the Howe Truss to cross the Grand River west of Austinburg, Ohio.

Knapps Bridge, Bradford County, Pa. 38-08-01
The 95-foot Knapps, or Luther's Mill Burr Truss bridge was built in 1853. to cross Brown's Creek east of Burlington. Chuck Knapp stands inside.
