* We are not yet able to report on Lycoming, Perry and Schuylkill Counties as they are still assessing damage to their bridges and we have no reports from those areas.
Note: Water reached the bottom of other bridges in PA, and in some cases as much as 6 feet above the bottom but no visible damage has been reported at this time. It is hoped that this was mostly because of the rising water and not rushing water.
They are:
Columbia County - Paden Twins, Kramer and Patterson
Dauphin County - Fort Hunter and Henninger's Farm
Lancaster County - Keller/Guy Bard, Landis Mill, Baumgardner's Mill, Forry's Mill, Shenck's Mill, Jackson Sawmill and Colemanville
The above information was compiled by Trish Kane with assistance from Covered Bridge Enthusiasts from PA, VT, NY, NH, MD and DOT's from PA and VT. Thanks to each of you for submitting information from your respective areas.
Note:
A DVD of photographs of damaged covered bridges is being compiled for historical preservation. If you would like to submit your photos to be included, please contact Bob and Trish Kane at:
